At 15, Rahima is the first girl in her family to dream about university. A community learning center helped her find the confidence to keep going.

A quiet determination.
When Rahima first joined the center, she rarely raised her hand. The lessons moved quickly and there was no quiet place to study at home. Her mentor began with reading circles, small goals, and a lot of encouragement.
Making space for a future.
Today, Rahima leads the reading group for younger girls. She wants to study medicine and return to her village as a doctor. “I want other girls to see what is possible too,” she says.
